Australia’s Cameron Bancroft has been charges with ball tampering. Steve Smith, suspended for one test, could also loose his captaincy.

Smith admitted to ball tampering which he plotted with other senior players, who he refused to name. It was during the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town.

Bancroft used a yellow tape, which had debris from the pitch, as a sandpaper to tamper with the ball. He also attempted to hide the evidence when he realised umpires were suspicious. He stuffed the tape down his pants. But it was all well caught on camera.

Major cricketers like Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist have slammed the attempt, also Cricket Australia will launch an investigation.

The main purpose for this tampering was to get reverse swing by scratching one side of the ball.
